Biography

Head and neck surgeon, cutaneous oncologist, and multidisciplinary clinician.

Dr. Emerick is an accomplished head and neck surgeon at Massachusetts Eye and Ear specializing in the care of patients with head and neck tumors and advanced cutaneous malignancies. He serves as Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Mentorship and as Co-Director of the Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic and Program. He is also an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

His clinical interests include head and neck cancer, advanced and high-risk cutaneous malignancies, sentinel lymph node biopsy, microvascular reconstruction, and pedicled flap reconstruction. Dr. Emerick has been involved in the development of the Mass Eye and Ear/Mass General Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic and Program, a multidisciplinary group focused on providing comprehensive care for patients with advanced skin cancers while creating a foundation for research and patient education.

Throughout his career, Dr. Emerick has been an invited speaker at regional and national meetings and has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers as well as several textbook chapters. He also devotes a portion of his time to advising and mentoring residents and fellows.
